Review- "The Diary of a Young Girl" Anne Frank

I am currently reading "The Diary of a Young Girl"  and I must say this is one of the greatest books I've ever read. It's really interesting to read because you can see that Anne Frank had the same problems like most girls her age: school, friends, boys, family, growing up. Then she goes into hiding in the secret Annexe and it's really interesting to see her day to day life in hiding. How they all have to keep quiet so the workers at the firm or the neighbours don't hear them. The problems with food shortages. The problems she had to face with everyone criticising her. That she didn't act how they wanted her too, the problems with the different people living in the Annexe. So far I'm about half way through the book but I just thought I'd let you know that this is a book worth reading. I'm not going to lie to you. I read a lot and this is one of the few books that really has me interested. Most books I kind off force myself to finish for the sake of it but there are a few books like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Les Miserables, The Diary of a Young Girl (to name but 3) that I really get into and cannot stop reading. Of course there are books like Twilight, Of Mice and Men, Lord of The Flies that just shouldn't exist because they take all the joy out of life. But I'm not going to go into detail about them.

So I do reccomend you go to your local library or buy the book online, or even download an audio book because this is a great book and it's not as boring as some people may think it is.

Review- "Carry You" by Union J

Carry You is the debut single by the 2012 X-Factor finalists Union J. So the song like any other pop songs has a steady beat and a catchy chorus, in which the male singers hit higher notes than me, and I'm a girl. JJ, Jaymi, Josh and George did a good job on the single but I imagined their 1st single to be more upbeat and something along the lines of "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction but this could be due to the fact both the bands came off the X-Factor and as them being a boy band I expected something more upbeat. But that's just what I think. The song is a great tune no doubt about it and looking and the boys on the single cover it does suit them. The single is available to pre-order now off iTunes and it will be released on June 2nd.  The official video for the song can be seen here . I think this is a great start for the Union J boys and I wish them all the success in their career.

Review TV Show- Sweat The Small Stuff, BBC3

Sweat The Small Stuff is the brand new BBC3 show. Nick Grimshaw hosts the panel show which makes a big deal about small things in life. After watching the 1st episode I can honestly say that this is a great show.  The 1st episode can be watched on BBC iPlayer

The team captains are: Rickie and Melvin from KISS FM and The Saturday's Rochelle Humes.
It also features celebrity guests. A bit like Celebrity Juice with Nick as Keith and the others as Holly and....not Fern the other one...I forgot who replaced her. Wooops. But yes Sweat The Small Stuff is a great show to watch. If you're watching it don't forget to tweet #sweatingit and your opinions. Here are some I found on twitter:
Just watched Sweat the Small Stuff and loved it

New Artist- Stakeout

Hello! Today's new artists post is about a Pop/Rock band from Redditch/Birmingham UK called StakeOut. The band consists of (from left to right):
Lee Jackson- Bass player for the band,
Matthew Hodgetts- Singer and guitarist for the band, and
Alex Banes- Who is the drummer for the band.

The band has some great tunes, my personal favourite being 'Hero' which you can get a free download off by going to their website: http://www.stakeoutofficial.co.uk/
Hero is a great tune. My favourite lyrics in the song are "If I could be your hero for a day." Which inspired a little fan art idea of mine.

Pretty neat huh? Well at least I'm proud off it :)
The StakeOut guys are on tour this summer, tickets can be found here: http://www.stakeouttickets.bigcartel.com/

Other links for the band you should know off:

So go check them out and you wont regret it :)

New Artists- Jay Tyrer

Jay Tyrer
So now I'm going to introduce you to a new artist. This is Jay Tyrer ,an unsigned, British, acoustic singer/songwriter. He has been playing since he's been in secondary school but over the past 3 years he realized that music is something he'd like to do as a full time career. Some of his musical inspirations are James Morrison, John Mayer and Train and he's also a huge fan of Justin Timberlake. Feb 2013, Jay supported Australian pop singer, Cody Simpson at his show at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham, UK. April 1st 2013, Jay has released a Limited Edition of his album called Don't Doubt Dreams. Currently Jay, with his manager Gus Goodall are planning a summer tour for Jay.
You can find Jay under these links.

Me and Jay  Feb 23rd 2013.

I know I look bad. I was outside the theatre since 5:45am. Hahah
Jay's lovely.

Review. "Walks Like Rihanna" by The Wanted

"Walk Like Rihanna" by The Wanted

So this is the brand new single by the British/Irish boy band The Wanted. The single is called Walks Like Rihanna and it, like many other pop songs, has a very catchy beat. So the chorus of the song goes "She can't sing. She can't dance, but who cares she walks like Rihanna." So I've been looking at what people had to say about this song on twitter and the youtube comments and people think that they are saying that Rihanna can't sing or dance. That is not what the song is about. The song is about a girl who can't dance or sing but she can walk like Rihanna which according to them is a good thing so good on you lads, I guess. Another thing I like about the song is like how just before the chorus they say "Hi, we're the Wanted." I think that's really cute but then someone else could argue with me that it's stupid. They also say "Thanks everyone. You're amazing." Considering the fact this is the official audio and is taken from the bands official youtube I take it that it will be part of the song when it comes out on June 23rd.
Here are some opinions I found on twitter:
Scooter Braun:  got that damn hook stuck in my head. thanks.
: I had an eargasm! What a lovely song! Congrats boys! "
@drojotengii is going to be my summer jam I can already tell cannot wait for the single release and music video!

The official song is out June 23rd!
